Description
Fiddler Dave Tweedie grew up in Stillwater, OK where he spent his youth immersed in violin and theater performance. Attending college in North Carolina, Dave entered into the world of folk music via a folklore course and Old Time fiddler, Jon Singleton. After cutting his strings (teeth) with contra dances in Charlotte, Dave was hired to fiddle in a theater production and met guitarist, Gary Mitchell. In 1993, Dave spent the summer with Gary and wife Kitty on Ocracoke Island, NC, where they became longtime friends and musical partners through their band, Molasses Creek. Drawing from many years of albums, this sampler presents a selection of some of Fiddler Dave’s favorite original vocal and instrumental songs.
