Pequea Valley Forge
Al Stephens has
turned his hobby into his career, moving from Missouri to Pennsylvania
to take a job as a blacksmith forging colonial hardware reproductions
and custom projects.
In the year
2000, Al and his wife Sylvia became entrepreneurs, starting Pequea
Valley Forge and producing a line of contemporary cooking utensils,
candleholders, and home accessories. Al's background of working in
different environments- in the trades, in a historic setting with
minimal tools and in a modern shop creating historical reproductions-
have allowed him to be successful in crafting unique hand-forged items
that sell well in gallery settings. Pequea Valley Forge is
dedicated to high quality work with attention to craftsmanship, form
and function.
In 2006, the
Stephens moved lock, stock and blacksmith shop to Alabama.
