Islanders woke up this morning to 3-4 inches of
heavy, wet snow blanketing the village. Ocracoke hadn't had a real
snowfall for over a decade. Even though virtually nothing is open and
hardly anyone had anywhere to go, the roads and lanes were busy early this
morning as neighbors walked, rode and drove through the village admiring the
winter scene and snapping pictures.
