CDs by Donald Davis:

Broken Bones
Broken Bones
Broken Bones (one CD for all ages) Broken Bones is a double set of stories.  The first set is made up of a story Davis's grandmother told about the time his mother broke her arm -twice!  The second story in the first set is about how his little brother's collarbone was broken-twice!  It is about how trouble is genetic in families. The second set of stories follows up on his neighbors the Leatherwoods and shows what happens when two big brothers team up against two little brothers.  It also shows that fathers are always smarter than their sons!    Contents: "Intro music,"  "Broken Bones,"  "The Last Spanking I Never Got," & "Portsmouth Homecoming."
Item No: AUG044
Qty:Price: $14.95

Too Much Hair!
Too Much Hair
Too Much Hair! (one CD for all ages) In Too Much Hair!, Davis focuses on the trouble with little brothers, especially his own. In the title story, he gives his little brother the haircut he badly needs.  The next story tells how he came to be permanently fired as his brother's babysitter.  The third tale recounts one of the many science projects for which his brother served as Davis's personal chemistry set.  These stories call forth memories from anyone who had to live in relationship to siblings.  Contents: "Intro music,"  "Too Much Hair!,"  "Watch the Baby,"  "Don't Step in Anyting" & "March of the Nefarious Glib."
Item No: AUG045

Irrational Fear
Irrational Fear
Irrational Fear (one CD for all ages)We will always have our personal phobias and white-knuckle moments.  The title story of Irrational Fear  tells of Davis's mother's fear of snakes and the way she eventually got even with him for making fun of her. (She always came out on top.)  The second story, "The Red Coat," tells why his father and his father's brothers-in-law finally stopped playing Christmas tricks on their sisters and wives.  Another hilarious send-up from one of America's favorite storytellers.  Contents: "Intro music,"  "Irrational Fear,"  "The Red Coat,"  & "Binkey's First Move."
Item No: AUG046
Qty:Price: $16.95

Party People
Party People
Party People (one CD for all ages) Some folks just prefer to stay home.  You know them-whole families who politely decline invitations because they don't spend money on fancy clothes, don't care for "small talk."  And they certainly don't dance. They are just not "party people."    Contents: "Party People,"  "The Little Rat," & "Putter Brown's Old Leather Waltz."
Item No: AUG041
Qty:Price: $16.95

The Time Machine
The Time Machine
The Time Machine (one CD for all ages) When Donald Davis walked into his 45th high-school reunion, he had two startling visions.  The first was that the only signage he saw read, WELCOME HARLEY RIDERS.  After discovering that he and his classmates would be sharing space with the bikers, Davis had his second surprise: "I was amazed to see how many parents had come."    Contents: "The Time Machine,"  "The New Car," & "Star of County Down."

Dr. York, Miss Winnie and the Typhoid Shot
Typhoid Shot
Dr. York, Miss Winnie and the Typhoid Shot (one CD for all ages).  In rural North Carolina, in 1951 despite parental reassurances, a typhoid shot hurt.  It hurt even more when you saw who would be administering the shot---Miss Winnie, a large dictatorial nurse who had been  "especially built by the nursing school so she would never blow away in a hard wind."  In this hilarious epic tale, our young hero learns three valuable lessons: avoiding pain only heightens it; a mother's wrath can hurt worse than a shot; and growing up sometimes involves choosing the lesser of two evils.
